March 27 Web 2.0 tools to enhance learning

This workshop will offer hands-on opportunities for English educators to explore practical ways to use Web 2.0 tools. We will discuss effective techniques and innovative ideas to incorporate Web-based resources. 

 

April 24 Teaching Digital Natives (young learners)

In this workshop we will focus on the latest online resources, tools and content for digital natives. We will learn about specific instructional practices for integrating digital media and technology in Kindergarten and Primary School.

 

May 22 Blogging and Microblogging

This workshop focuses on the pedagogical application of blogging and microblogging. Participants will learn how to create a blog as an online space to keep the conversation going after class. They will also learn how to use microblogging tools for their own professional development and how to use Twitter to turn students into better writers.

 

June 26 Images for Educators

This workshop focuses on visual literacies. We will explore how images can be used in our classrooms for storytelling, comic creation and photo sharing to provide classroom strategies for building cross-curricular connections and strengthening student understanding.  

 

 

July 31 Wikis in Education

In this workshop, participants will gain the necessary skills to effectively use wikis as a collaborative tool in the classroom. We will examine examples of wiki sites in different educational categories.

 

August 28 How to use images and the IWBs in the ESL classroom

In this workshop, participants will learn how to create digital content that can be used with Web 2.0 collabortive tools. We will focus on the pedagogical use of IWBs to enhance learning in our daily teaching scenarios.

This workshop will focus on social networks and their potential to create communities of practice to share, communicate without barriers and enhance the teaching-learning process in the language classroom.

 

 

 

About the presenter

 

  Jennifer Verschoor holds degrees as English University Professor, Bachelor in Educational Management, English Public Translator and ICT in the Classroom validated by Trinity College London. Currently finished a postgraduate course on Virtual Worlds called Muvenation. She is an ESSARP course coordinator, specialized in Technology Integration in the classroom. 

 

Her emphasis in training teachers to integrate technology into the classroom started several years ago. Since then has given numerous workshops on the integration of New Technologies in Education abroad and in Argentina. She has given online presentations for BESIG in Germany and Tesol France. She was awarded with the Scholarship to attend WorldCALL Using Technologies for Language Learning, 3rd Internatiional Conference in Fukuoka, Japan.
